At E.W. Tompkins Plumbing Heating Cooling, we can test your water and make suggestions on a whole house water filtration system based on the results.  You may want to filter out a rotten egg odor or minerals that are discoloring your clothing or toilet basin or both.  We can install both “Under the Sink” and “Whole House” filters for your home.

A “Whole House Filter” is installed where the water comes into your home. Copper pipes are typically 3/4″ or 1″ and that makes a difference in the size filter you need to have. It is important to note that filtration systems and softener systems can often spare your pipes from harshness.

Filters are easy to change out often some systems suggest that you change out the rubber “O Ring” should be replaced so that the unit has a water tight seal. “Under the Sink” units are easy to install and do not take up too much room. You will still be able to located a trash bin and kitchen supplies in that cabinet. With just a couple of screws, the system is placed on the side wall.

Filter change out is easy and the frequency of the change out depends on how many gallons of water you utilize.
