How to determine the type of Hot Water Heater You Own
Contact E.W. Tompkins Plumbing Heating Cooling for quick installations of quality made hot water heaters. It takes about 2 hours for the entire installation. We need to know if you have an electric, natural gas or a propane unit.
On natural gas and propane units we need to determine what type of venting you have on your unit. Is it a silver chimney that vents out to your furnace ? This is a “standard vent”. Do you have a black blower on top with some PVC tubing on top. This is what is called a “Power Vent”.
Now look for the label on the current tank and see how many gallons it is. Most units are 40 or 50 gallons.
We like to know if the unit is tight in a closet or in a finished cellar or if it is beneath a stair case. Did you know that water heaters are now taller and wider ? Take a photo and email it to our office.
